Family Mission Statement Print E-mail

As I discussed on Pod Cast number one, developing a family mission statement is an important part of a familiy's journey. All groups need to know the direction in which they are heading in order to eliminate confusion and chaos.

Imagine a business that did not develop a mission statement or business plan, it would fail. Many families do not give consideration to organizing their direction and purpose, and this is an enormous mistake. Why would we place the most important part of our lives on the back burner? You can have a successful and happy family, and I encourage you to develop your own Family Mission Statement.

This statement is something that everyone gets a say in. It is not dictated to the masses, but is a living breathing part of your family. This statement can change and grow over time, and include children's input as they grow. This statement is not just for families with children, but also for families without children. Feel free to use my family's statement as a foundation for building your own. As with all things, putting your unique energy and time into creating it, is what lends it magick and sends the energy out into the Universe!

Seren's Family Mission Statement

We seek to honor the ancient ways with new ways of being. The family unit that we represent is an important reflection of the spiritual community we support and we seek to honor this community through our actions and deeds. Our path and decisions are based on each individual and the collective good. We will seek not to cause harm, and will not pursue power over but seek the power within that supports the family unit. We will be honest with one another, but will not compromise ourselves to the point of sacrifice. We will seek to meet together on a regular basis, checking in with the members of this group and advocating for the needs of each other. In all that we say and do, with all that we are and ever will be we will seek first and foremost to honor the divine spark within us.

Developing a personal creed is an important part of your journey. A person needs to know the direction they are heading in order to obtain goals and to eliminate chaos and confusion. Many people do not take the time to organize the direction they are going, and this can be an enormous mistake. Imagine a business that did not have a mission statement, goals or job descriptions; it would be utter chaos. Now, this may be the Virgo in me talking, as we like organization in everything, but take  a look at where you are going and what you believe.  Developing a personal  creed can  only be beneficial.

 MY CREED

First and foremost I am a follower of the ancient ways, as much as I can and dare. I am a creator of new beliefs and ways that honor the path of the ancestors. I do not believe in Satan, nor do I worship any such created deity. I believe that each of us is a part, a fragment of the All. We have each been given gifts, and we have a responsibility to share those gifts. I believe in balance; dark and light, and it is through balance that I come closer to the divine nature within me. My path is ever changing, definable and un-definable, tangible and not, as soft as a whisper of wind, and as loud as the thunder on a midsummer's day. I change like the seasons, grow older with time and in death will be reborn. All that I am and ever will be should seek first and foremost to honor the divine spark within me.
